Third, Christ was magnified in Paul by the agency of the Holy Spirit. There is a switch in the verbal structure here.3 He did not say: “I shall magnify Christ”; rather, he wrote: “Christ shall be magnified.” The passive voice suggests that Christ would be magnified by Paul through an outside influence.
